The ship God described

Material: Gopher wood. Genesis preserves the name, but the specific species is uncertain.
Sealing: Pitch inside and outside.
Interior: Rooms within the ship.
Dimensions: 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high.
Structure: A roof, a side door, and lower, second, and third levels.

God’s sons and the Nephilim

Genesis does not explicitly identify “God’s sons.” An ancient Jewish interpretation understood them as rebellious heavenly beings. Other interpretations understand them as powerful rulers or descendants of Seth.

The chapter gives humanity’s great wickedness, the earth’s corruption, and widespread violence as the setting for judgment. The heavenly meeting and luminous plans are artistic staging rather than details stated directly in Genesis.
